Michael Hall, Head Coach

Michael Hall has more than 25 years of experience coaching fencers at both the collegiate and club levels and a Prevot certification from the USFCA. A former collegiate fencer at the University of Texas at Austin, he later returned as a coach with the University of Texas Fencing Club while also coaching at the Texas Fencing Academy in Austin.

His collegiate coaching experience includes serving as head coach at Lawrence University and as an assistant coach at the United States Air Force Academy and the University of North Carolina. Across these roles, he has worked with fencers of all ages and experience levels, helping athletes build strong technical foundations and progress toward higher levels of competition.

Coach Hall is known for his clear, patient teaching style and his emphasis on fundamentals, accountability, and steady improvement. At Carolina Fencers Club, he is committed to creating a supportive, disciplined training environment where fencers are challenged to grow as athletes and as people.
